In short: StreamMesh streams your uploaded videos to Instagram Live from the cloud. Instagram doesn't let apps start a live, so you open Live on instagram.com, choose Streaming software and paste the stream URL and key into StreamMesh; Instagram gives out a new pair for every live. Video goes out at up to 720p in the shape you uploaded, and the live runs until you stop it or Instagram's own time limit ends it.

How it works

How to go live on Instagram with a pre-recorded video

  1. 01

    Upload your videos

Add the videos you want to play, in any format. Vertical (9:16) video fills the screen on Instagram.

  2. 02

Open Instagram Live on a computer

On instagram.com, choose Create, then Live video, then Streaming software. You need a professional (creator or business) account.

  3. 03

    Paste the URL and key

Copy the stream URL and stream key Instagram shows into StreamMesh, pick your videos and press Go Live.

  4. 04

    Go live on Instagram

When the preview appears on Instagram, press Go live there and keep that tab open. Next time, Instagram gives you a new URL and key to paste.

Features

Live on Instagram, without holding a phone.

No phone, no OBS

The video is streamed from our servers, not your device, so a call or a weak signal can't interrupt it.

Pre-recorded, played live

Play up to 20 videos back to back as one live, once through or on a loop until Instagram's time limit.

Ready for Instagram

Videos are converted to what Instagram Live takes, H.264 and AAC at up to 720p, the first time only, and keep the shape you uploaded.

Keys that don't linger

An Instagram key works for one live, and we delete it when that live ends. We never ask for your Instagram password.

Change videos mid-live

Add, remove or reorder videos while you're live. The new playlist takes over when the current video ends.

Instagram and YouTube together

Send the same stream to Instagram and YouTube at once. Each one starts and stops by itself.

FAQ

Instagram live streaming, answered.

Can I go live on Instagram with a pre-recorded video?

Yes. Upload the video to StreamMesh, paste the stream URL and key from Instagram Live, and press Go Live. The video plays as a live on your account, streamed from our servers.

How do I get an Instagram Live stream key?

On instagram.com, on a computer, choose Create, then Live video, then Streaming software. Instagram shows a stream URL and a stream key; paste both into StreamMesh. Once the preview appears on Instagram, press Go live there and keep that tab open.

Why do I need a new stream key every time?

Instagram issues a stream URL and key for one live only. When the live ends they stop working, so you paste new ones for your next live. StreamMesh asks for them when you press Go Live.

Do I need a professional Instagram account?

Yes. Streaming software can only go live on professional (creator or business) accounts. You can switch a personal account to professional in Instagram's settings.

How long can an Instagram live last?

Until you stop it, or until it reaches Instagram's own time limit for a live, whichever comes first. To carry on after that, start a new live with a new key.

What video size works best for Instagram Live?

Vertical 9:16 video fills the screen. StreamMesh sends video at up to 720p, in the shape you uploaded it, converting it the first time it goes live on Instagram if it needs to.

Do you need my Instagram password?

No. StreamMesh only uses the stream URL and key Instagram gives you for one live, and deletes them when that live ends.

Can I stream to Instagram and YouTube at the same time?

Yes. Add both destinations to one stream. Each platform a stream is live on counts as one of your plan's concurrent streams, and each can be stopped by itself.

How much does StreamMesh cost?

There's a free plan with one stream, no card needed. Premium costs ₹999 per stream per month, or ₹9,990 per stream per year (about 17% less, two months free). From 4 streams, every stream costs ₹799 a month or ₹7,990 a year. Full pricing
